Sigandur is known for Chowdeshwari Temple. Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple is a holy pilgrimage center located in the river banks of sharavathi in sigandur village of shivamogga district. The temple is built in 18 th century dedicated to chowdeshwari which is believed as one of the most powerfull goddess to by the devotees come here.
Sigandur is about 40km from sagara town of shimoga district, and can be reached by public and private transports . A barge/ ferry ride on the sharavathi backwater gives an experience to explore natures beauty within the forest area.
